ABOUT ME

I have been practicing in North County San Diego for over ten years, and have been practicing at Pendleton Eye Center since August 2020!
My practice has focused on treating ocular disease, including dry eye, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. In addition to treating disease, I also have extensive knowledge and experience in soft and specialty contact lens fittings, including the Scleral Lens.

My husband is a Cobra Pilot in the Marine Corps Reserves, and while the Marine Corps brought us here, the people and the weather have made us stay!

I am excited to call North County home!
EXPERTISE
DRY EYE
Dry Eye Disease is a condition where your eyes do not produce enough tears, or the tears produced are poor-quality tears. There are many causes, as well as potential treatment options to either cure the underlying condition or to make living with dry eyes manageable.
GLAUCOMA
Glaucoma is a condition where the optic nerve becomes damaged, usually due to a buildup of pressure in the eye. Glaucoma is hereditary and gets worse with age. There are usually no initial symptoms, so early diagnosis from your eye doctor is key to preventing permanent vision loss.
MACULAR DEGENERATION
Macular Degeneration occurs when the central portion of your retina, called the macula, wears down over time. As with Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration usually presents as you age, and often has no noticeable symptoms in early stages. Early diagnosis and treatment is key.
DIABETES
Diabetes is a group of diseases that result in too much sugar (glucose) in the blood. This can affect many parts of the body, especially the eyes. Annual dilated eye exams are critical to detect early signs of diabetic retinopathy, which can often be treated in early stages of the disease.
SPECIALTY CONTACT LENSES
While contact lenses are often intended to be an alternative to glasses, some patients are unable to achieve crisp vision in conventional contact lenses. Specialty contact lenses are designed to help patients with corneal conditions, such as keratoconus, corneal ectasia, or corneal transplants, achieve effective results. They can also be an alternative option for relief for patients who suffer from dry eye.
CATARACT
A Cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye. They are extremely common in older patients, and are corrected through a surgical procedure. The most important consideration is to have your eyes examined and the surgery performed before vision-loss becomes excessive.
